It depends what the problem is really (you need to be a tiny bit more specific). Personally I can sleep once I actually get to sleep, it's just a matter of getting to sleep that's the problem. I can't tell you what to do so I'll just say what helps me: staying away from computers etc for about an hour before I go to bed, and I used to listen to this one song on my iPod (Sway by Lostprophets) to get me feeling drowsy, then I'd just sit there keeping my eyes open (as RhumanIaffectionP says, it does work).
