Anyway, my favorites have to be 1984, The Catcher In The Rye, and something else...dammit I forgot the title...
You're right! :O I'll change some things.

Jonny, do you know which book comes first in the series?

Sounds good.
While I'm in this section, I think I'll post another book that I enjoyed reading!
Dan Brown's "Deception Point". Jonny, I believe you said you like reading political thrillers, and this is exactly that! For me, it's difficult to describe because it's such a complex plot, but here's a description I found on a website:

"Rachel Sexton works for the National Reconnaissance Office as an intelligence officer. She is also the daughter of a Senator currently running for President. Her father's main offensive, and a very popular one, against the incumbent President is to attack the huge amount of NASA funding. Rachel is barely on speaking terms with her father, believing him to be totally corrupt, but is still worried she is being used by the President when he asks her to verify an amazing find by NASA, a find which will settle the arguments about NASA funding for ever. Reluctantly agreeing to view the find Rachel is whisked off to the North Pole. What she finds once she gets there takes her breath away. However, she quickly learns that nothing is what it seems, and, with two civilian scientists, is soon fleeing for her life. Stranded on an ice berg they are rescued in the nick of time by a nuclear submarine, but once back in the US their attempts to expose the plot show them that they can trust absolutely no one..."

Sounds good! I'll swing by the library on Thursday and pick it up.

On the subject of political thrillers, here are some you might enjoy...
Jennifer Government
- Major corporations take over the globe and rule nations as a business, all citizens of each "nation" adopt the company's name as a surname, it follows the lives of several people and a plot that unfolds.

Moscow 2042

- I'm sure you know what communist russia was like, but in the story TRUE communism is achieved in moscow, at the total expense of the entire country, it's a story about an attempt to restore the russian tsars to power and rescue the country from a corrupt idealist regime.

Prayers for an Assassin

- Imagine 9/11 a hundred times as effective, it happens, and most of the US converts to Islam out of fear, and forms the islamic states of america, it follows the political scene that unfolds.

and finally, I tracked down that book I was looking for it's called The Devil's Playground and it's written by Stav Sherez...
Here's the blurb...

"When the body of a tramp, Jake Colby, is found in a secluded Amsterdam park, Dutch police detective Ronald Van Hijn believes that this is the ninth victim of the serial killer stalking the city. Yet, all previous victims were young, female and beautiful. What could have made the killer change his MO?

On the corpse Van Hijn finds contact details for Jon Reed, an Englishman who befriended Jake in London shortly before the murder. Van Hijn summons Jon to Amsterdam to identify the body and so sets him on his own journey of discovery.

Was Jake really a tramp? What revelation about his identity led him to a life on the streets? And did his fate lie not in the hands of a serial killer but in the horror of the Holocaust death camps some 60 years before?"

Oooh, they all sound very interesting! I like the imaginative idea that the citizens have to take the nation's surname, like you stated for Jennifer Government.
I'm a big fan of murder mysteries, so The Devil's Playground should be something I look into, as well.
