Love?

Short story by ME. It's called 'Love?'. Don't forget the question mark.

"Love? What about it?" The girl said, absentmindedly smudging the oil pastel outline she had sketched out.
"A simple invention created by higher powers with a bad sense of humor, with the soul purpose of keeping our race alive. Oh, and maybe to provide entertainment for them.." she wiped the orange smudge off her fingers, working on the red section of the picture.
"But... what about the special feeling you get, around that special someone?" I said, narrowing a quizzical eyebrow.
"There's nothing special about it, A. We're programmed to feel that way so we're more likely to sleep with that person. As women, we need to feel like that before letting men get that up close and personal, you know?" I shrugged and stared at my feet, silently admitting to being too stuck up to sleep with someone I didn't love.

"I don't get why people go off crying about it. If someone doesn't feel the same way, it's their responsibility as human beings to fuck off." She stretched her fingers out and swirled the red and orange together, pushing streaks of it into the brown outlined tree trunk.
"Well... what if they love the other person so much that they don't care who they're with, so long as they're happy?" I said, stretching out as though it were a casual question, although I was honestly curious about her answer.
"That's the same thing, silly. Either they act up and scare the other person away, or they let them go peacefully. Either way, if they're a bad mating match, they wont end up together." I sighed and took a seat beside her desk, watching the picture as she put random swirls of blue and white around the top. I glanced away and tried to muster up the strength to tell her. I failed.

I attempted to write more, but I just couldn't decide on age/sex/sexuality/names for my characters, so I couldn't T~T

It's not just writers block or anything though. It's just that I don't want to screw it up by adding something else, but I can't add anything else without giving them names, ages, and sexualities. I have like a billion possibilities for it, and each one of them could potentially ruin it.
