ok so i love playing music n singing. but im too embsressed to sing or play music in front of anyone. the very few ppl tht ive played music in front say its good. i was wondering if anyone has the same problem or if they did n how they got over it

You remind me of myself, I play guitar and regularly perform to people now, but when I started to perform 5 years ago I used to be really really shy.

It's best to start out performing infront of family and close friends, then just slowly increase the number of people you perform to.

my first big "test" for me was playing to my tutor group (about 30 people) but after that I found enjoyment in performing to people, since then i've done loads, even performing in front of the entire college year (200 people)

It's simply a matter of steps, gradually performing to more people over time, then you'll become more enthusiastic about it and will be jumping at the opportunity to perform

I've got some major problems with performing in front of others.

My family's, like, ooberly musically gifted, and I do quite well playing most instruments (if I do say so myself ). But the reason I don't play in a band anymore is because of the fear of performing in front of others. It's so bad that I wouldn't practice playing my band instrument at home out of fear that someone might hear/see me.

I do regret not having overcome my fear. I'm sure I would have been very inspirational and admired if I had stuck to my talents and abilities and done my very best. But eh, I gave that all up.
