You'd just have to meet up somewhere and wouldn't that be considered as dating anyway? Besides, if you fell in LOVE with someone, then you would more than date them. I mean, love is... love, means different things for different people but if I TRULY loved someone and she TRULY loved me back, on the internet then I would do everything possible for us to meet as soon as possible, no matter in which part of the world she is.

Sure, we may not be able to stay together for long, maybe just a week or two and then we'd both go back home, but at least we did that.
Long distance relationships are sad a lot of the time, especially if the boy or girl requires a lot of physical interaction with the other one he/she likes or even loves but with a bit of work from both parties, people can be happy, but both persons would need to be even more opened up about their true feelings and what they want/ like/ don't like than in a normal relationship.

I mean, I get enough dating drama in real life; that's bad enough. I certainly don't need to be spending eight hours a day wasting life on a computer chasing a relationship that's 90% impossible to make real.

Long distance relationships are only worthwhile if you KNOW that it will lead somewhere, if you know you will never meet the other person, or you cant adjust your plans in life to include them there is no point.

However if (like me) you can adjust to accomodate, then they are worthwhile. My current girlfriend is long distance, but within the year i will be going to the university she attends. We meet up regularly too.

There are benefits to long distance relationships, i call my girlfriend everyday because I dont see her as often, we dont take phone calls or communication for granted, we send each other letters and personal items in the mail, it brings us closer in a way.

If you know you can make it work, do it. if you know that it will fall apart then dont.
